Guardian Chest Rig is a modern take on the legendary Chinese bandolier, widely used during the Cold War. It is designed for efficient carrying of ammunition and other combat gear, even in an era where plate carriers and integrated ballistic vests are preferred.
This simple chest rig is particularly useful in scenarios where ballistic protection is not required, such as civilian use, training, or airsoft events. It is also ideal for situations where a ballistic vest would be too restrictive, such as carrying a heavy backpack for extended periods or driving a vehicle.
Guardian Chest Rig is equipped with various pouches and pockets that allow for efficient organization and carrying of gear. The three main double pouches hold up to six AR15/AK magazines, and they come with adjustable flaps secured with Velcro. These flaps can be removed for quicker access, while the magazines remain secured by elastic cords.
The interior of the pouches features a rigid divider to prevent magazines from rattling, though they are not suitable for magazines with pronounced features.
Additionally, there are two universal pouches for US canteens, IFAK, food, or extra ammo. These pouches have a flap with a Fastex buckle and Velcro closure. The flap allows for the routing of an antenna from a radio and is equipped with a Velcro panel for attaching patches.
The chest rig also includes three insert pouches for rifle and pistol magazines. These pouches can be removed to utilize the flat compartments for documents. The exterior of the chest rig is covered with PALS/MOLLE webbing for attaching additional pouches and accessories.
The lower edge of the rig also features drainage holes that allow water to escape, keeping the contents dry.
