The M1911 Pistol and its Variants

The M1911, designed by John Moses Browning, is one of the most iconic handguns in history. It was adopted by the U.S. military in 1911 and served as the standard issue sidearm until 1985. Renowned for its reliability and performance, it became a favorite among soldiers during both World Wars, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.
M1911 is chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge. It is famous for its robust construction and high accuracy, making it popular among civilians, law enforcement, and competitive shooters.
The M1911A1 version was introduced in 1924 and included several upgrades to the original M1911 design, such as an extended safety spur, longer firing pin, shortened trigger, and added grip scallops for better ergonomics.
