Premium Hop-Up Rubbers by Maple Leaf

The hop-up rubber is one of the most crucial elements affecting the accuracy and range of your airsoft weapon, alongside a precision inner barrel, chamber pressure system, and high-quality BBs. If you want to shoot farther and more accurately, there's no need to excessively increase muzzle velocity. It’s like adding more gas to a car without a proper steering wheel. Finding the right combination is an art, and every player has their own perfect setup.
Hop-up rubbers are available in several variations, each designed for different types of inner barrels (AEG/HPA, GBB/VSR, Hybrid), muzzle velocities (shore hardness), environmental conditions (standard or silicone rubbers), and specific purposes (range or accuracy).
The longer and wider the contact surface with the BB, the greater the range you can achieve, but it might sacrifice accuracy compared to rubbers with an arrow/diamond-shaped nub, which initially engages the BB with its full width before narrowing to a point, thus increasing precision and grouping. However, this design provides less backspin compared to wider nubs, which are better for longer ranges.

EVO 3 Rubber Specifications

  • SUPER Hop Seal.
  • Stabilizes the BB trajectory over longer distances compared to original parts.
  • Compatible with KWA/KSC gas weapons (except MP7), as well as PTS MEGA M4 / MASADA.
  • The sleeve around the rubber ensures stable pressure and better alignment.

Warnings

  • Recommended muzzle velocity is based on the BB weight used, so if you shoot 0.36 g BBs, the recommended muzzle velocity is measured with them.
  • The suitable BB weight and recommended muzzle velocity are indicative only and must be individually tested in each setup to achieve the best possible combination.

Recommendations

  1. Place the rubber precisely into the hop-up window cutout and use the lower guide groove on the barrel to ensure even installation.
  2. Before inserting it into the chamber, it is recommended to lightly lubricate the outer surface of the rubber with silicone oil (suitable for rubber materials) for easier installation. Never lubricate the inner part of the rubber.
  3. Do not force the barrel with the rubber into the chamber.
  4. Before installation in the weapon, ensure that the BB passes through the inner barrel.
  5. Check the alignment of the hop-up nub in the chamber for proper function (accuracy), ensuring the nub does not tilt to one side, which would cause the BB to curve.
  6. New rubbers need a "break-in" period; it is recommended to shoot 200-400 BBs before achieving consistent hop-up effects (depending on BB weight and muzzle velocity).
  7. Perform initial shots with only a slight hop-up pressure setting. Following this process will provide much more consistent shots compared to immediately setting the maximum desired hop-up pressure.
