The Northeast Gas-Powered Sten MK.2 BSA GBBR with a skeleton stock is a gas-powered GBBR airsoft submachine gun featuring blowback, delivering a realistic recoil simulation – it kicks hard!

History of the Sten Submachine Gun:

The submachine gun known as STEN or Sten Gun is of British origin, designed in 1940. It served in the ranks of Allied armies during World War II and in the post-war period. The designers of this submachine gun were Harold John Turpin and Major Reginald Vernon Shepherd. The name "Sten" is a combination of their names, Shepherd and Harold Turpin, with the addition of "EN" indicating the Enfield factory where these submachine guns were manufactured.
The STEN Mk II version was the most widespread and existed in two variants of shoulder stocks. The first variant had a frame made of a metal profile (Skeleton stock), while the second was equipped with a tube and welded buttplate (T stock). The bolt and trigger mechanism remained the same, but the wooden foregrip was removed. The barrel with a short cylindrical casing was screwed onto the bolt housing, allowing for easy separation.
This version also allowed the attachment of a bayonet to the barrel casing. The STEN Mk II submachine gun played a crucial role in the successful attempt to assassinate Heydrich, during which it infamously jammed. The STEN Mk II S version had a permanently attached sound suppressor on the barrel.

This MK.2 BSA model is based on the Long Branch STEN Mk. 2 and was ordered by the Nationalist Government (Republic of China). Details unique to this version can be seen on the magazine well. The Chinese characters on the well are "si deng" (phonetically STEN) and the second "shou ti ji giang" (hand machine gun). The bottom line is "jia nada zao" (made in Canada).
After the war, a civil war broke out in China. STEN Guns were used on both the Nationalist and Communist sides. After the retreat of the Nationalist government to Taiwan, STEN Guns and their clones (Model 38) were issued to army divers, military police, and local civil defense units on surrounding islands.

The Northeast Gas-Powered Sten MK.2 BSA GBBR brings to its future owners:

  • Realistic and durable surface treatment:
The traditional and proven surface treatment with parkerizing adds durability and aesthetics to the submachine gun. Surface treatment with manganese phosphite phosphate. Steel construction (except for the bolt block, which is an aluminum alloy).
  • Cocking handle MK.5:
The MK.5 handle is designed to provide secure bolt locking. It is used when the bolt is in the forward position and allows it to be fixed with the receiver tube, eliminating the risk of accidental firing when dropped.
  • No. 3 Mk.1 "Skeleton" stock:
The No. 3 Mk.1 "Skeleton" stock represents a more robust and comfortable variant. Its iconic appearance, often seen in historical war photographs, including the Vietnam War, gives the submachine gun a distinctive look.
  • Authentic BSA stamping:
Authentic BSA stamping on the magazine housing is not just a decoration but also confirmation of the origin from a reputable manufacturer, increasing the credibility of the submachine gun.
